Creating joyful moments as Brisbane’s Christmas spirit shines bright

It’s officially the festive season in Brisbane now the City Hall Lights are here!

It’s the 13th consecutive year The Lott by Golden Casket has supported the much-loved (and free) festive favourite, with Brisbane Deputy Lord Mayor Cr Fiona Cunningham and our General Manager of Public Relations Matt Hart flicking the switch on Friday.

“Christmas is a time for families to come together, and there’s a deep sense of joy in being part of something that unites people,” Matt said. 

“Celebrating the 13th year of supporting this wonderful event, we extend our warmest wishes to all our customers and their families.

Beamed onto Brisbane City Hall, this year’s dazzling six-minute show ‘A Christmas Blackout’ was written by local author M.H Flynn. The story follows Ned and Ted who worry Santa won’t find them in their new apartment.

Rallying their neighbours to light up their balconies, they’re faced with a sudden blackout on Christmas Eve. But the community’s spirit shines through as everyone comes together with candles, music and hope, ensuring Santa’s arrival and a memorable Christmas for all. 

See the light show in King George Square every 15 minutes from 7.30pm nightly until Christmas Eve.
