Community

Community Hero Image

As the place where Australia comes to play, we recognise the role we have in delivering positive impacts in the community.

From partnering with charities and non-profit organisations to supporting small businesses and collaborating with industry, our contribution to society extends beyond the products we offer.

Community Contributions

For generations, lottery proceeds have helped fund projects and initiatives that benefit Australian communities. Our community contributions are supported by a range of funding sources, including operating expenditure, unclaimed lottery prize money in Queensland and the Northern Territory, and certain state and territory licence arrangements.

In FY26, contributions across all funding sources channelled $5.2 million towards community partners.

Volunteering and Community Participation

Community support is also reflected in the contributions of our people, who are encouraged to take TLC Leave to volunteer with community organisations individually or with colleagues.

Through our matched fundraising initiative, we also support charities of our team members’ choice.

Supporting Local Business

For decades, our retail and venue network has supported thousands of small businesses across Australia.

Our retail presence is one of the country's largest, operating across metropolitan, regional and remote communities and supporting local employment across hundreds of regions and thousands of suburbs and towns. We pay commissions to newsagents, lottery agents, licensed venues and other retail partners for the sale of our products.

In FY26, we paid $637 million in commissions to retail and venue partners.

Supporting Industry Development

We also support initiatives that strengthen industries connected to our business.

In FY26, we continued our support of the ECLIPS (Emerging Club Leaders Inspiring Progressive Success) program through a three-year partnership between Keno and Clubs Queensland. The program provides training and education to selected employees from Queensland clubs with the aim of fostering the next generation of industry leaders and addressing critical skills gaps.
