Standing with farmers as Keno and Rural Aid extend partnership

Keno is proud to partner with Rural Aid for a third year, donating $100,000 to support farmers, their families and rural communities when they need it most. 

For farming families, this assistance can help meet essential needs and relieve some of the pressure that comes when disaster or adversity strikes.

Rural Aid CEO John Warlters said Keno’s continued support would help the charity respond to the changing needs of farmers and rural communities.

“Rural Aid provides the right assistance at the right time, because what a farmer needs can change as their circumstances change," he said.

"That might mean hay or water immediately after a bushfire or flood, assistance to ease financial pressure, or counselling support as they navigate the many ongoing challenges.

The renewed partnership reflects a shared commitment to strengthening regional Australia and supporting the people who keep the nation fed and supplied. By backing Rural Aid’s on-the-ground programs, Keno’s contribution will help deliver practical assistance, emotional support and hope to farming families facing uncertain times.

“Thanks to our venues and customers, we’re pleased that our continued partnership with Rural Aid can help keep more rural communities feeling strong, seen and hopeful about their future," our General Manager Keno Operations Paul Malek said.

In 2024 and 2025, Rural Aid supported 1500 farming families with practical assistance including almost 10,000 hay bales, 170 water tank deliveries providing nearly 12 million litres of household water, and financial assistance to more than 530 families.
