We’re proud to today continue our support of the Stars Foundation with $120,000 to help more First Nations girls and young women unlock their potential through mentorship, education and connection.

This boost from The Lott by Tatts NT Community Fund brings our total contribution to more than $820,000 over eight years.

Since the Stars Foundation was established in 2015, 1,300-plus young women have taken part in the charity’s programs, gaining access to trusted mentors and a culturally safe environment that supports them to stay engaged at school and build bright futures. 

 

“Mentorship is a powerful tool in shaping the belief of First Nations young women,"

Stars Foundation Founder and CEO Andrea Goddard said.


"Not only do our girls feel safe, supported and listened to, but our Stars mentors show them that they have choices, their voices matter and they can dream bigger for their futures. 

"Thanks to this support, Stars Foundation can ensure our holistic programs reach more girls, expand into more schools and provide consistent, long-term mentoring. This stability means we can focus on real outcomes, not just short-term fixes, for the 4,000 Stars students we are currently mentoring.”

Our Senior Partnerships Manager Liz McPherson said it was rewarding to support an initiative creating meaningful change.

“It’s incredibly rewarding to know we’re helping Stars create a culturally safe, nurturing environment where young women have the support they need to succeed,” she said.
